Wandering Walls

“Walls have always existed in the history of humanity”. “These walls have separated territories, countries, empires, family and friends. There are also mental walls; walls that are built by human beings in their minds.
The walls appear motionless but they are in constant movement. They are wandering giants that want to be redeemed”. Wandering Walls is a poetic metaphor about immigration and identity.

The installation is like an abandoned archeological excavation with Neo-realistic architectural structures and symbolic elements like big finger prints. My intention was to made a video-performance and use the clay to create an uncertain and bleak atmosphere.

All of the performers that I chose come from countries with political problems. They have experienced immigration and they have some kind of identity conflict. The performance and every movement was in relation with their particular and personal experience.
